Steinhardt to Senators: Be like Josh

With Chris Christie out of office and somewhere that required airplane travel, Republican State Chairman Doug Steinhardt is quickly emerging as the voice of the loyal opposition.

Steinhardt today praised the Republican Congressmen from New Jersey for supporting a continuing resolution to avoid a government shutdown, and used the opportunity to take a shot at the state’s two Democratic United States Senators.

The chairman called on Bob Menendez and Cory Booker to” reject the radical partisanship that seems to have taken over their caucus.”

“For the sake and safety of the troops we send oversees and the health and welfare of the millions of children effected by CHIP, we need Menendez and Booker to stop a government shutdown,” Steinhardt said.

The best line in Steinhardt’s statement is the one that pits Menendez and Booker against freshman Democratic Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff).

“If their fellow Democrat, Josh Gottheimer can support this resolution, then I see no reason for them not to come to the table and get this done,” said Steinhardt.
