What happened to HCDO’s money?

By David Wildstein, February 01 2018 1:32 pm

The Hudson County Democratic Committee has $144,324, but debts of $139,144.  That means one of the most Democratic counties in the state has a lower net worth than the Sussex Democratic machine.  The debt comes despite raising $661,023 in 2017 at a time when Republicans were barely contesting anything.  The likely explanation was the Hudson was the conduit of monies going to other parts of the state to save Democratic County Chairman Vincent Prieto’s speakership.

Those owed money by the HCDO may want to collect before Prieto leaves to take his promised job at the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, because it’s fair to believe that Brian Stack won’t feel obligated to pay Prieto’s bills.
