Warren Democrats vote this morning

By David Wildstein, February 10 2018 9:37 am

Warren County Democrats will meet this morning to endorse a candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th district.

The winner of the convention will get the Warren organization line in the June primary, which features six contenders seeking the chance to take on Rep. Leonard Lance (R-Clinton) in November.

Tom Malinowski, a former Obama state department official, won the Hunterdon Democratic convention last Sunday.  Berkeley Heights banker Linda Weber has the lines in Somerset and Essex counties.   Lisa Mandelblatt, who had been self-funding her campaign and had brought in the most money so far, dropped out of the race a few days ago and endorsed Malinowski.

Scotch Plains attorney Scott Salmon spent twelve hours yesterday campaigning in Warren in a final effort to snag county committee votes.  Attorney Goutam Jois, environmental activist David Pringle, and 2016 Lance challenger Peter Jacob, are also seeking votes.

The convention begins at 10AM in Washington.
