The Corker-Lance connection

There’s a New Jersey angle to speculation that Tennessee U.S. Senator Bob Corker will change his mind about retiring and seek re-election.  Rep. Marsha Blackburn entered the GOP primary for an open seat and would need to decide if she wants to face Corker in the general or simply run for her House seat.  If Blackburn stays in the House – some national pundits report that she’ll stay in the Senate race — she blocks the path the path for Leonard Lance (R-Clinton) to move up.

Lance is next in line to chair the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, if he wins re-election to a sixth term in November.
