Sussex GOP endorses Hugin

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Bob Hugin has won the endorsements of the Sussex County Republicans, including County Chairman Jerry Scanlan.

The former pharmaceutical company CEO also has the backing of State Sen. Steve Oroho (R-Franklin), Assemblyman Parker Space (R-Wantage) and Hal Wirths (R-Hamburg), and Sussex GOP vice chair Jill Space.

While Sussex has no organization line, Scanlan will allow Hugin to use the official county organization slogan on the June primary ballot.

“Bob Hugin is the contrast candidate we need to defeat Bob Menendez this November,” said Scanlan. “While Bob Hugin was leading a team that saved lives and improved cancer treatments for patients at Celgene, Bob Menendez was taking lavish gifts from political donors and being indicted for corruption. The choice couldn’t be clearer.”

Oroho pointed to Hugin’s record of military service.

“As the proud father, brother, and uncle of active-duty and former servicemen, I am proud to support Bob Hugin for U.S. Senate,” said Oroho. “As a Marine veteran, Bob truly understands the sacrifices our brave men and women make every day serving our country. I know he will be a strong voice for our military in Congress.”
