Prieto will finish term as county chairman

By David Wildstein, February 20 2018 10:39 am

When Vincent Prieto assumes his new position $280,000-a-year job heading the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority next week, he’ll resign from the State Assembly and from his job as Secaucus Building Inspector but will hold on to his unpaid post as Hudson County Democratic Chairman.  Prieto will finish his term as county chairman, which expires a week after the June primary, but will not seek re-election.

The State Ethics Commission has advised Prieto that they see no conflict between his Sports Authority job and his role as a county chairman, sources say.

Democrats expect State Sen./Union City Mayor Brian Stack to succeed Prieto as county chairman.
