Myers meeting with NRCC today

By David Wildstein, February 21 2018 9:12 am

Christine Myers, who joined the Trump administration two months ago as the Regional Advocate for the Small Business Administration, is meeting with a National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) official today to discuss her potential candidacy for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th district.

Myers’ office in New York said only that she would be out of the office for the day and available only by e-mail.

Following Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen’s retirement announcement, Republican National Committeeman Bill Palatucci made telephone calls to key party leaders pushing Myers, a Mendham resident, as a congressional candidate.

Myers was elected Morris County Freeholder in 2015.  She said in December that she would finish her term, but not seek re-election.  Her term expires at the end of the year.  She attended a Morris County Republican fundraiser on Saturday evening at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster.
