Morris County Freeholder Heather Darling has left Anthony Bucco’s exploratory committee and has endorsed Jay Webber for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th district.  This could be a sign that Bucco is not running.  Darling lives in Roxbury, which is in Bucco’s district.

Webber has also won the support of Republican State Committeeman Larry Casha, a GOP establishment stalwart who lost an Assembly primary to Webber in 2007, and Morris County Surrogate John Peccoraro.

Hanover GOP Municipal Chairman Michael Leone, former Montville Mayor Scott Gallopo, former Bloomingdale Mayor Ann DuHaime, Lincoln Park Councilman Gary Gemain,  Butler Councilman Stephen Regis, and former Hanover Township Committeeman Robert Bruneo have also endorsed Webber for the seat of retiring Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen.

“Jay Webber is a true public servant who puts the interests of our citizens and taxpayers first.  This congressional race is too important to Morris County and our country to trust it to anyone but the best candidate, and Jay Webber is that candidate,” said Darling.  “I urge all of my friends, neighbors, and supporters to join me in going all-in and backing Jay Webber in every way.”
