Rep. Leonard Lance will hold a Town Hall meeting on Saturday morning in Bridgewater. It’s the 46th one he’s held since becoming a Congressman nine years ago. Attendees must get advance tickets either from Lance’s office or through an online entry program.
Lance faces a potentially tough race for re-election in the 7th district, which gave Hillary Clinton a one-point win in 2016. Seven candidates are vying for the nomination to oppose him.
In an adjoining district, Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen took considerable heat for refusing to hold a Town Hall meeting. Some political experts believe Frelinghuysen’s refusal to speak directly to his constituents empowered a grass roots movement that eventually contributed toward the twelve-term congressman’s decision not to seek re-election.
