Goutam Jois has raised $282,410 in his bid for the Democratic nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th district. He has $259,181 cash on hand.
This propels Jois into the top tier of fundraisers for the chance to take on Rep. Leonard Lance (R-Clinton) in the fall. He has more than double the warchest of Linda Weber, who has won the organization line in Somerset and Essex counties. Weber has burned through more than half of the money she’s raised: she has $132,590 remaining out of $318,484 raised.
That number includes Jois’ own contribution of $50,000.
