IBEW backs Bayonne Mayor re-election

Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis and his entire slate of council candidates have been endorsed by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Union Local 827.

“Mayor Jimmy Davis and his team have put Bayonne on the path to a brighter future for all residents by attracting new investment to the city,” said Thomas Kelly, IBEW Local 827 Executive Board member and Business Agent for Hudson Unit 1. “The entire Davis Team is committed to helping working families succeed and they are the right choice to continue leading this city forward.”

Davis, who is seeking re-election to a second term, says that union men and women “are the backbone of Bayonne.”

A statement issued by the Davis campaign says that Bayonne is prepared to gain about $2.5 billion in new real estate investment over the next few years and that the mayor’s commitment to economic development is one the reasons the IBEW endorsed him.
