Ex-State Senate aide, former party chair die

Judith Desrochers, who spent twelve years as a legislative assistant to State Sen. John Matheussen, died on February 8 at age 75.

James Freeman, who served as a North Plainfield concilman from 1993 to 1996, passed away on January 27 at age 67 following a long illness.  He was also a former school baord member and served on numerous civic committees in North Plainfield, and served as North Plainfield’s representative to the Plainfield Area Regional Sewer Authority (PARSA) and Plainfield Joint Meeting for over 20 years.

Former South River Republican Municipal Chairman Carmen Zaccaria passed away on February 8.  He was 92.

Robert Boas, a former vice president of the Fair Lawn Republican Club, died on February 4 at age 96.

Louis Francis, who served as a longtime member of the Glen Rock Republican Club, died on February 12 at age 91.
