DCCC promotes Kim, Van Drew

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has elevate Andy Kim and Jeff Van Drew to the Red to Blue program, which will boost the fundraising prospects of the former Obama White House official.  Kim is seeking the Democratic nomination to challenge Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-Toms River) in the 3rd district.  Van Drew, a State Senator from Cape May County, is seeking the open 2nd district seat held since 1994 by Republican Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R-Ventnor).

Just 24 Democratic candidates in the country to receive this designation thus far, which offers top-tier challengers organizational and fundraising support — but not a DCCC endorsement.

“From countering terrorism as President Obama’s Director for Iraq to serving as a strategic advisor to General Petraeus in Afghanistan, Andy has worked tirelessly to keep our families safe,” said DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján (D-New Mexico). “National security expert Andy Kim has spent his life serving our country and will fight for hardworking families in New Jersey’s Third District.  No matter the situation or circumstance, Andy flat out gets the job done and it’s clear why he’s been able to build one of the strongest grassroots campaigns in the nation.”

Luján was in Vineland earlier this month to help Van Drew open his campaign headquarters.

“A dentist, small business owner, state Senator and lifelong advocate for South Jersey, Jeff Van Drew has always delivered for his community,” said Luján. “A consensus builder with a laser like focus on bipartisanship, Jeff has worked across the aisle to fight for working families, support our veterans, take care of our seniors and ensure our children have a bright future. His independence, energy and toughness make Jeff one of the strongest candidates in the country.”
