Butler event showcases Booker & Baraka alliance

The growing friendship between U.S. Senator Cory Booker and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka continues to blossom.  A Booker fundraiser tonight in Newark included a rousing intro of the Senator by Baraka – they were rivals when Booker was mayor and Baraka was a city councilman.  Now Baraka says he is building on the foundation that his predecessor established for seven years in Newark, and that he stands with the potential presidential candidate in opposition to President Trump.  The majority of the City Council was there, as well as Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla, East Orange Mayor Ted Green, Union County Freeholder Angela Garretson.  It’s another success story for Booker’s top political advisor, Mo Butler, who was one of the hosts of the fundraiser and the primary architect behind a plan that turned two foes into what appears to be an increasingly strong political alliance.
