Blood resigns from Bucco campaign

Former Mendham Township Deputy Mayor Rick Blood has resigned from the Bucco for Congress exploratory committee.

Assemblyman Anthony Bucco (R-Boonton), who is considering a bid for the Republican nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th district, says that Blood contacted him this morning and withdrew his name from the panel.  Bucco accepted Blood’s resignation.

This is the final chapter on an unfortunate saga that began with a controversial Facebook post on Sunday that compared immigrants to raccoons and President Donald Trump to an exterminator.  Facing growing pressure, Blood resigned from the Township Committee last night.
