Democratic congressional candidate Linda Weber will have the organization line in Essex County, according to sources familiar with the Essex Democratic organization decision-making process. Essex could make that announcement as early as today.
The Essex portion of New Jersey’s seventh district includes only Millburn and accounted for just 2% of the district’s total primary vote in 2016. But in a competitive contest to take on Rep. Leonard Lance (R-Clinton), the Essex line could prove critical.
Weber won the Somerset line last night. Somerset made up 35% of the total primary vote – the largest county in terms of voter turnout in the last House primary.
