Assemblyman Jay Webber (R-Morris Plains), who served as Republican State Chairman from 2009 to 2011, is giving serious consideration for a bid for Congress to replace retiring Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen.
Webber declined to make any announcement today.
I thank and congratulate Congressman Frelinghuysen for his longstanding and dignified public service to the people of New Jersey and the United States of America,” Webber said in a statement released this afternoon. “With his retirement announcement, today is a time for his constituents and the State to reflect on and appreciate the Congressman’s dedicated representation of our citizens. Any discussion of what comes next should wait for another day.”
