Washington lobbyist heads Murphy policy shop

Gov.-elect Phil Murphy is bringing in a veteran Washington lobbyist who was the lead staffer on climate change for Sen. John Kerry as his Chief Policy Advisor.

Kathleen Frangione was a legislative staffer in Kerry’s Senate office, and then a senior policy advisor on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.  She left Kerry in 2010 to become Executive Vice President of Signal Group Consulting, a government relations and public affairs firm with an impressive book of business.   She is a graduate of Harvard College and received her M.A. in Forestry and Environmental Studies from Yale.

Murphy also named Joe Kelley, his deputy campaign manager and finance director, as Deputy Chief of Staff for Economic Growth.  Kelley worked on campaigns for U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy in Connecticut, and for NARAL Pro-Choice Amercia.
