The Trump administration has picked a Republican County Chairman from upstate New York to serve as the Regional Administrator of the Small Business Administration.

Steve Bulger, the Saratoga County Republican Chairman, will oversee the SBA operations in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Island.  Bulger was the District Director for Rep. Chris Gibson from 2011 until Gibson left the House after the 2016 cycle.  Prior to joining the congressional staff, Bulger worked for Stryker, the medical device company.

Trump carried Sarasota County by 5,000 votes in 2016, 48%-44%.  Saratoga went for Barack Obama in his two presidential campaigns.
