Democratic House candidate Andy Kim needs to say if he would have voted to shutdown the federal government, a strategist for Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-Toms River) said this afternoon
MacArthur for Congress strategist Chris Russell pointed to the importance of the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst as a reason for Kim, a former Obama White House staffer, to say if he would have voted with MacArthur and Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) to prevent the shutdown.
“Would Andy Kim have joined them, or sided with Nancy Pelosi and his far-left supporters? It’s a simple question and the people of Burlington and Ocean Counties deserve a yes or no answer,” asked Russell. “Anything less is unacceptable.”
Russell says that Kim’s campaign “has been a collection of far-left talking points and inflammatory attacks, avoiding substance as if he were allergic to it.”
“His recent statement about the government shutdown is no different. It’s time for that to change,” Russell said.
Kim, who attended the Women’s March in Philadelphia yesterday, said that the “chaos and recklessness happening in Washington, D.C. over the past year is out of control. It’s clear more than ever that we need new, responsible leadership to stop the chaos and get government working again.”
