Roginsky joins new power comms firm

By David Wildstein, January 29 2018 11:48 am

Julie Roginsky, a top Democratic consultant for the last twenty years, is forming a new public relations firm with Phil Norcross and Jeff Michaels.

The firm, Optimus Communications, teams her up with the brother of one of New Jersey’s most powerful Democrats, and with the former chief of staff to Republican Gov. Donald DiFrancesco.  Optimus Communications will provide clients “high-level expertise in communications, public relations, crisis management and digital and social media.”

Roginsky brings strong relationships with the Big Three – Gov. Phil Murphy, Senate President Steve Sweeney, and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin – to the new firm.

The new group will not be related to the lobbying arm of the Norcross/Michaels group, and Roginsky will keep her own political consulting business.

Roginsky was a key strategist in Murphy’s campaign for governor, signing up with him more than three years ago at a point where Murphy’s gubernatorial prospects were eclipsed by Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop and Sweeney.  Murphy’s campaign to sew up the county organization endorsements in 2016 was largely orchestrated by her.

“As the demand for corporate communications has increased, the need for strategic media relations to promote brands and businesses has never been more vital,” said Roginsky.. “I am proud to partner with Philip and Jeff as we work to meet the profiles of our clients through advertising, earned media and grassroots coalition building.”

In the past, Roginsky has worked for U.S. Senators Frank Lautenberg and Jon Corzine.  She is well known nationally as a FOX News contributor.
