Report: Kipnis challenging Watson-Coleman

By David Wildstein, January 23 2018 3:43 pm

SaveJersey is reporting that Daryl Kipnis will seek the Republican nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 12th district.  The incumbent, Rep. Bonnie Watson-Coleman (D-Ewing) is expected to seek re-election to a third term.

Kipnis, a 37-year-old lawyer who grew up in East Brunswick and now lives in Franklin Township, is making his second bid for office in two years.  He challenged longtime State Sen. Bob Smith (D-Piscataway) in the 17th district in 2017 and received 29% of the vote.

The 12th district heavily favors Democrats.  Hillary Clinton received 65% there, and Barack Obama got 67% in 2012.

  1. I watched Kipnis debate Senator Smith. His behavior was bizzare and he really made a fool of himself. Flimsy grasp on policy from an uber-trump suporter. Exactly the kind of lawer who should never hold power.
