PBA back bi-partisan corrections bill

PBA 105 President Brian Renshaw applauded the passage of S1651/A796. The bipartisan bill, which cleared the Senate and Assembly calls for the title of State corrections officers to be renamed

“Both sides of the aisle need to be recognized for their efforts on this issue and I want to thank both houses for passing this bill,” said Brian Renshaw, President of Local PBA 105. “During the academy, State corrections officers go through some of the most thorough training courses, and their efforts should be commended and recognized. Calling these brave men and women correctional police officers will bring a whole new sense of pride to their job.”

Renshaw thanked the bipartisan group of lawmakers in the Senate and Assembly, including: Senator Jeff Van Drew (D-Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland), Assemblyman Bruce Land (D- Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland). Assemblyman Anthony Bucco (R-Morris, Somerset), Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon (R-Monmouth). Senator Linda Greenstein (D-Middlesex), Senator Steve Oroho (R-Morris, Sussex, Warren).
