State Sen. Declan O’Scanlon (R-Monmouth), who served as the Assembly Republican Budget Officer, has been given a seat on the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee.

O’Scanlon also has seats on the Community and Urban Affairs Committee, and the Law and Public Safety Committee.

He was elected to the Senate in 2017, following the retirement of eight-term Republican Joe Kyrillos.  A former Little Silver Councilman, O’Scanlon first ran for the Assembly in 2005 and lost to incumbent Michael Panter by 65 votes.  He won a seat in 2007 and has been re-elected four times.
