NRCC slaps Kim’s CHIP attack

By David Wildstein, January 21 2018 10:29 am

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is criticizing Democrat Andy Kim for continuing to attack Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-Toms River) on Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) funding without taking a position himself.

“You would assume that means Kim opposes Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer’s reckless shutdown tactics. But we don’t know for sure… because he hasn’t taken a position,” said NRCC spokesman Chris Martin.  “It’s time for Andy Kim to take a stand. Would he have voted with House Democrats to shut down the government and hold funding for CHIP and our military hostage?”

Kim, a former Obama White House staffer making his first bid for public office, tweeted yesterday that “the chaos and recklessness happening in Washington, D.C. over the past year is out of control.”

“It’s clear more than ever that we need new, responsible leadership to stop the chaos and get government working again,” Kim said.
