Mastrangelo could run in 11th

By David Wildstein, January 30 2018 11:59 pm

Morris County Freeholder Tom Mastrangelo is interested in running for Rodney Frelinghuysen’s congressional seat, but seems conflicted over his loyalties to two other prospective candidates: Assemblywoman Betty Lou DeCroce and Assemblyman Anthony M. Bucco. If neither decides to enter the race, expect Mastrangelo to consider entering the 11th district Republican primary.

Mastrangelo, a three-term freeholder, is looking to position himself for a State Assembly seat, if there is a vacancy in the 26th district.  Sources say that the likely candidacy of State Sen. Joseph Pennacchio (R-Montville) would not impact Mastrangelo’s interest in a run for Congress, even though they come from the same hometown.
