Four former New Jersey local officials passed away over the last few days.

Former Hawthorne Mayor Buddy Englehardt died yesterday at the age of 85. A Korean War veteran, Englehardt.  He was elected in 1993 and served one term before losing the Repubican primary to Fred Criscitelli.  His brother, Edwin Englehardt, was the Passaic County Sheriff for 28 years before resigning in 2001, and was one of the most powerful forces in North Jersey politics.

Casey Costa, a former aide to Perth Amboy Mayor George Otlowski, died on Friday.  Costa worked on many of Otlowski’s campaigns, and served as a Commissioner of the Perth Amboy Parking Authority in the Otlowski administration.  He was a longtime leader of the Portuguese American Congress of Newark.

Former Monroe Councilman Henry Miller died on Friday.  He was 90.  Andrew Pandich, who served as a Councilman in Closter, passed away today at age 92.
