If pharmaceutical millionaire Bob Hugin runs for U.S. Senate, he can thank Phil Murphy for creating new rules regarding the release of personal income tax returns. New Jersey Democrats have lost the ability to cry foul if a Republican for any office employs a similar tactic over the next few years.
A few days before he was elected Governor, Murphy set aside two hours for reporters to view his 2016 tax returns. He released the only the first two pages the public.
Murphy had given the media a two-hour window in 2016, prohibiting the taking of photographs or making copies.
