Ex-Kean campaign aide dies

By David Wildstein, January 26 2018 7:33 am

Robert Bradsell, a former public television executive in Michigan and Iowa, who later worked on Gov. Tom Kean’s campaign in New Jersey, passed away at age 73 after a long battle with cancer.

Bradsell started out in politics as a press secretary to Rep. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), and managed Grassley’s first statewide campaign in 1980, when he defeated Democratic U.S. Senator John Culver.  He later joined Ailes Communications, where he met Kean.  He was part of the team that produced television ads for Kean’s re-election campaign.  Kean won 70% of the vote that year.

His interest in New Jersey history extended for the remainder of his lie.  He was a Trustee of the Swan Historical Foundation, which displays a massive collection of Revolutionary War artifacts at Washington Crossing State Park.
