State Sen. Joseph Cryan (D-Union) will serve as Vice Chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee, and as a member of the Senate Law and Public Safety Committee. He was elected to the Senate last November following the retirement of ten-term Democrat Raymond Lesniak.
Cryan returns to the Legislature after serving as the Union County Sheriff. He was first elected in 2001 and re-elected six times. He is a former Assembly Majority Leader and New Jersey Democratic State Chairman.
