U.S. Sen. Cory Booker has joined the Senate Judiciary Committee, giving the potential presidential candidate an opportunity to question President Trump’s nominees for federal judgeships and other key posts.
In a tweet, Booker said: “Excited to join the Judiciary Committee. It’ll be my mission to check awful actions by Trump & Sessions; keep working to advance the cause of reforming our broken justice system; and to bend the arc of history closer toward equal justice for all.
Booker and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-California) were given seats on the committee. One replaced Al Franken and the other reflects a changed ratio of Republicans and Democrats based on the pickup of a Senate seat in California.
